I Have No Past… or Future

I have no past.,
no line of ancestry,
no roots of family tree~
yet, I am of Mother Earth.

I have no say,
no words of compromise,
no voice of rhyme or reason;
yet, I am a thinking beast.

I have no wealth,
no long line of credit,
no clear deed of ownership~
yet, I am an honest soul.

I have no status,
no true mark of respect,
no person reckon with;
yet, I am of royal blood.

I have no future,
no sense of destiny,
no longing for tomorrow;
yet, I am of things to come.
